Melita is a fine art and portrait photographer based in Surrey. She has a Masters in Fine Arts Photography from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, where she was also an Artist in Residence.

Photography has an undisputed power of memory. It is through a series of images that we remember our own childhood and life. It is these memories Melita seeks to preserve through her photography.

Using different methods, from freezing nature and photographing it through to recording marks her children make, Melita uses subjects and objects to act as metaphors for the theme of motherhood. Her investigation starts from her own experiences and knowledge of motherhood and her gaze oscillates from her children to herself through to her own mother.

Melita’s work has been exhibited in the Lightbox Gallery in Woking and in Woking Train Station.
